That hit would be the one that won the game for ULM, after Boomer Blanchard's solo-run blast, his eighth homerun of the season, in the eighth inning put the Warhawks up 3-2, as Christensen closed the door down in the final two innings to give ULM the victory.
The Warhawks followed that performance up the next night by playing another close thriller against the Razorbacks that needed ten innings to decide the winner of the game.
After a Smith single scored Nick Wade in the top of the tenth to give the Warhawks a 9-8 lead, ULM came into the bottom half of the inning poised to sweep the series. However, that would not be the case as Scott Lyons's two-run walk-off homerun won the game for Arkansas, 10-9.
The Warhawks would then be swept in a three-game series against the Middle Tennessee State University Blue Raiders, before heading back to the friendly confines of Warhawk Field to demolish in-state rivals McNeese State and Northwestern State.
The Warhawks also took the first game of a three-game series against Florida International before losing the second game.
The ULM team will have five more games in the remainder of this season in Monroe, with a three-game series against the University of South Alabama Jaguars from May 1-3 and a two-game series against the Houston Baptist University Huskies on May 15th and 16th.
