The Campus Activities Board will be sponsoring Spring Fever April 11-15.
"This will be the best Spring Fever week ever," said John King, Pineville accounting freshman.
King means this, of course, in every sense of the word, considering the theme of this year's Spring Fever week is "ULM Spring Fever, the Best Week Ever."
CAB is working with many campus organizations, including 31 Ambassadors and the Student Government Association, to help program the weeklong celebration.
"Spring Fever is definitely one of the best times of the year on campus because everyone is out relaxing, and of course, having fun," said Leslie Citizen, Chruchpoint occupational therapy senior.
While this year's theme may suggest that this will be the best Spring Fever week ever, some students are disappointed because there will not be a big name concert this year.
"I am disappointed because I was looking forward to a big concert with an artist like Lil'John or Usher, because previous artists did not appeal to me," said Michelle Biley, Monroe business senior.
Some students feel like the lack of a big-name concert will harm campus activities,
"The atmosphere of student involvement is already declining, and we should focus on bringing in good names," said Olivia Lawdins, Jennings kinesiology senior.
CAB tried to book hip-hop and R&B artists, but due to state time restrictions on contracts, CAB was unable to sign any famous musical artists. However, CAB will be hiring local bands to fill in the gap.
Each Spring Fever week brings along new events and new Spring Fever t-shirts. This year, for the first time ever, CAB will be selling two different t-shirts. Students will be allowed to purchase two different colors: hot pink or turquoise. The graphic art department will be helping CAB with the t-shirt design.
